Transportation systems management is the process of the implementation of an integrated urban (inter-state) transportation system. The main objective of transportation management is to increase the mobility considering the existing systems. Generally, a transportation system includes networks, vehicles, passengers and goods. Radical changes in transportation would led to enormous costs. There are different types of costs in this field of science. Environmental costs has taught human that they must constraints their activities. Sustainable development require objective studies particularly in the area of transportation in order to meet the needs of the present with no harm to the future generation. Transportation planning combines the concepts of sustainability, economic, social, and environmental to reach a balance and provide the citizens with efficient transportation systems.
