Generally, a transportation systems consists of networks, vehicles, people and goods. Enormous developments in transportation systems will require considerable costs. But irreversible costs like air pollution, noise pollution as well as destruction of the environment has had a big lesson for the mankind: There should be a limit to development. Sustainable development in terms of fulfilment of present requirements without harming the logical needs of the future generations, requires implementation of targeted studies in all macro levels of development, including transportation. The concept of sustainability itself, potentially connects all the economic, social, environmental and energy objectives of the societies. These objectives are affected by transportation on one hand and also influence on transportation on the other hand.
